SBP provided Sustainability consulting (LEED & Fitwel), Energy Modeling, and Commissioning services for the grand opening of two impressive residential buildings in North Bethesda, Maryland. These buildings, encompassing a combined 353,400 SF, are key additions to the expansive of the Strathmore Square development. The two high-rise towers house 220 modern apartments, and rise 9–10 stories above a shared, two-level parking garage. Designed to offer both functionality and comfort, the units within the buildings were compartmentalized to minimize air leakage between the units and underwent blower door and duct leakage testing. These projects achieved Enhanced Compartmentalization for achieving low leakage rates. Additionally, the buildings achieved 43% total water use savings and 26% energy savings from ASHRAE 90.1. Aligned with SBP’s commitment to sustainability, the project achieved the USGBC LEED Gold certification, reflecting thoughtful design and environmental responsibility.
