James K. Polk Elementary

As part of the City of Alexandria’s “Greenovation” of it’s school system, James K Polk Elementary is undergoing a major high performance renovation with new HVAC systems utilizing ground source technologies, lighting systems, a new premium efficiency gymnasium, solar thermal, solar photovoltaics and others. As part of this effort, SBP provided whole building energy modeling and energy efficiency consulting services during the design process. SBP calculated that this building would earn (17) LEED EA Credit 1 points at an energy cost savings of 42% relative to ASHRAE 90.1-2007.
