BUILDING HIGHLIGHTS

The American University Meltzer Center project is designed for NET-ZERO and includes Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) as part of the project goal to help achieve the NET-ZERO target and the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) Gold rating. The Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) methods performed by Sustainable Building Partners (SBP) for this project are based on the LEED program, which references ASHRAE Guideline 0–2013 and ASTM E2947-16: Standard Guide for Building Enclosure Commissioning to achieve LEED EA Enhanced Commissioning (Cx), Option 2, Enclosure Commissioning (BECx). Project scope includes BECx documentation, design review, shop drawing review, pre-construction laboratory performance mock-up testing (PMU) observation, construction site visits, field functional performance testing, whole building airtightness testing, warranty site walk, and systems training.
