Wegmans- City Ridge and Twinbrook

SBP completed energy modeling, LEED modeling, and consulting services for two Wegmans locations in the Washington, DC region, City Ridge and Twinbrook. The City Ridge Wegmans, at around 98,000 sf, received a LEED Silver v2009 for Commercial Interiors and the Twinbrook Wegmans is currently tracking to achieve LEED Silver v4 certification. Both projects focused on their connections with the local community and being able to offer convenience in both the location and accessibility aspects. The projects show Wegmans’ passion for sustainability as they have put into effect an extensive waste tracking program where food waste can be sorted up to 3 different categories. Moving forward, it is hopeful that all Wegmans can try to purse LEED certifications where it is feasible.
