Colonial Village

The Colonial Village is a garden-style condominium complex located in Arlington, VA. The complex was originally developed in the 1930s and updated in the 1980s. As part of the latest modernization of these residents SBP developed several hourly energy simulations of each apartment type (covering 162 units) scheduled for major renovation. These models were developed specifically to comply with the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) utility allowance calculation requirement based on the proposed renovation coupled with the most up to date residential utility structure. As part of this process, SBP developed specific utility budgets by-end use and estimate monthly and annual energy costs that would ultimately be incurred by the residents.
