Knox Road Student Housing

Knox Road Student Housing is a New Residential building that is being constructed directly adjacent to the University of Maryland Campus. The intended use of this project is for student housing. Additionally, there is approximately 20,000 SF of retail space. The project contains 248 garage parking spaces. The building is 9 floors and will provide 341 units to house approximately 788 residents. The SBP team has placed a particular emphasis on the USGBC pillars of Health and Wellness and Equity. By placing emphasis on the Indoor Environmental Quality credit category, the project teams have selected LEED and other design options that will improve the health of the students that reside here. Since the purpose of this building is for student housing, it was important that proper ventilation, lighting, and thermal comfort were provided to improve student comfort and health.
